About me

Morgan began her musical journey when her mom signed her up for the middle school band and no one else in her class wanted to play the oboe. She took one for the team and was in it for the long run. Aside from playing the oboe in school bands, Morgan has also played the saxophone in jazz and marching bands as well as the recorder and crumhorn in early music ensembles. She currently plays oboe and English horn in the Columbia Bach Society and Columbia University Orchestra where she has played repertoire such as Dvorak’s New World Symphony and Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring.

Morgan started writing music when she was 13 and completed her first album by the end of seventh grade, which she distributed to friends and teachers. Currently, she writes bright and airy tunes combining elements of traditional wind and string instruments with electronic instruments reminiscent of the music of the video games she played as a kid.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Florida State University, Morgan taught music in public schools in Florida for two years. She is currently residing in New York City where she attended Columbia University for her master’s degree in Arts Administration.
